Geotechnics and Geohazards (Master's Programme)
Each year, natural catastrophes due to geological hazards cause countless of deaths and extensive damage to the environment and infrastructure worldwide. Geohazards include landslides, rockslides, avalanches, earthquakes and tsunamis. Many lives could be saved and enormous destruction avoided if people knew more about geohazards forecasting and prevention.
Geotechnics is the study of how we can build safely on, in or of soil. Numerous challenges exist, and they are often related to the optimal exploration of limited areas in and close to cities and densely populated areas.
Within geotechnics, there has been a shortage of new candidates on the market for several years now. Both consulting companies and entrepreneurs are looking for more people with this type of competence.
